It has been tough, to say the least. Learning the different store policies and how to coupon with paper coupons verses digital, manufacturer coupons verses store coupons is a lot of information to take in. And to be real honest, I have nearly given up a few times!
BUT I chose to give it ONE more try and found a technique that works for me.
What I learned?
Patience. The one thing I realized is that I need to be more diligent about getting to the stores earlier in the day when their shelves are less picked over. Being nice to the cashiers helps as well. AND having a general plan in place PRIOR to going is a BIG relief. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work out the way you want it to but don’t give up.
Dollar General has been my main store of savings. I have a nice stock pile and less than $100 invested. I set a budget of $25 a week and since Dollar General gives me the $5 off $25 coupons ONLY good on Saturdays, that is my designated coupon day.
I did try Walgreens but for some reason I didn’t do the razor deals properly and spent WAY more than I was supposed to. I thought I was supposed to get 20,000 points + 10x points for spending more than $20 but somehow that didn’t pan out either. BUT I do have $10 to spend on a future purchase and I got 2 free 8×10’s so I wouldn’t say it was a complete failure.
Family Dollar, I walked in… nothing was scanning as priced in the ad so I left. I will give it a try another time.
Walmart, I ended up buying everything generic because it was cheaper.
I am upset that I bought a bunch of coupons that I didn’t end up using so this week I am only using what came in my paper or what hasn’t expired from my purchase. Wish me luck this weekend!
AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND YOUR COUPON DEALS!
